Why ā€œ3 1/2 Years Afterā€ and what does it mean? First, depression sucks. If you are or know anyone who is, please *listen* to them, and be a friend. Being depressed and alone or without anyone to talk to is the worst, I know.

Almost 5 years ago I started producing synth pop 80’s new wave type music hoping to start a retro dance band. That hasn’t happened, yet, but I was writing songs for the first time in many, many years. I’ve never sung before, and as anyone who knows me knows, I couldn’t sing, I would lip sync Happy Birthday, that’s how bad I was! I just didn’t understand the concept of singing notes, really. Unfortunately, but it soon came to be expected, every time I tried to learn to sing (YouTube) my ex would laugh and make fun of me. This killed my confidence and motivation, so I gave up.

Then about 3 1⁄2 years ago my life fell apart, and I hit rock bottom. Everything I knew and the one thing I loved most, my sweet (trained) service and therapy dog Casey, was stolen from me by a very mentally sick ex-common-law wife. (The reason she left is a bit complicated, but one thing I’ll never do again is start a business with a girlfriend/spouse. What they say is true, it doesn’t usually work out very well.)

So, at that miserable point in my life, I thought, what could I do to distract myself from depression and maybe better myself? Well, I started to write songs again, this time without a specific genre in mind and actually tried to sing them. 3 1⁄2 years after all that, this is my first music release, I hope you enjoy it.

I played or programmed all instruments. I recorded, mixed, and mastered all songs in my little extra room studio using mostly software plugins for Logic Pro. You don’t need a whole lot to make music. šŸ™‚ Musical and production consultation from Ron Morales.
